Assignment 1 process (Stimuli )

Tracey Moffa
I always think that everyone's identity comes from their cultural background, which leads them to experience different things. Therefore, everyone will have their own unique identity and personality characteristics. Artist Tracey Moffa explores childhood, race, identity and other topics with the audience through her own photography. This series of topics seems to me to be implicitly discussing the influence of culture on people and the stereotype brought by cultural background. Because childhood, race, identity and other topics can not be separated from the background of culture, which exists in any society and era. So when I saw Tracey Moffa's works, I was attracted by her works, because through her works, I had a strong desire to explore culture, which was closely related to my own learning and life experience. Tracey Moffa's works also deeply moved me in the use of color. She adopts a retro style, similar to the feeling of Polaroid, which can better bring the audience into her works and more easily arouse the nostalgia of the audience. This is my own favorite style and type, and I would like to present this stimuli in my concept book if I can.

Christo and Jean Claude
Christo and Jean Claude's works let me feel a kind of unique aesthetic feeling intuitively. This kind of aesthetic feeling stems from the fact that they show the most basic characteristics and proportions of food. What we can feel and see is the original appearance of a thing after covering up the complicated and delicate process and design. These huge projects are easy to arouse the audience's thinking. Everyone's thinking leads to different conclusions. In my opinion, the building wrapped in huge textile fabric has become a huge sculpture. And these sculpture like works can let designers pour more inspiration, because for me, the more concise things can stimulate the imagination and creativity of artists. Of course, this is also due to the use of materials by Christo and Jean Claude. The coverings they chose were not rigid or cheap. They chose a cloth combined with traditional textile technology to create a smooth feeling of sculpture and let the audience have a stronger visual experience. The combination of traditional and modern gives people a new experience and is an important measure to promote sustainable development. Ancient buildings need such unique and modern design to attract more young people's cognition and understanding of them, so as to truly achieve sustainable development! This is what impresses me the most, and it is also the attraction of this series of works.
